The ARSILC is pleased
to announce that we are hosting the 2015
“Together Against Bullying”-Unity Day event
on October 21 at the State Capitol, 2nd floor Rotunda from 10 a.m.
until 12 p.m. You are receiving this email as special guest of the ARSILC as a
provider to individuals with disabilities. All of our events are centered
around promoting equal access and inclusion for individuals with disabilities
to be productive and to live as independently as any other citizen in our
state. This event is a national initiative that takes place every year in
October presented in part by Pacer. For more information visit
www.pacer.org/bullying.
This year, the SILC is promoting this initiative as an extension of
Disability Awareness month and the ADA 25 celebration!
A few things below for you
to consider:
·
Free Lunch will
be served but you must RSVP your group to have lunch secured. Any dietary
restrictions will need to be stated when registering. Example:
vegetarian, gluten free, etc.
·
We will again
provide reserved parking for those that will bring consumers in vans. The
public service announcement will go out next week, however as our special
guest, you are getting the notice before anyone else.
·
Once you RSVP
your group, different providers will be contacted so that we can secure
participants to help in the areas of the program.
·
Everyone is asked
to wear orange on that day and show the unity as we stand up against bullying.
·
If you have a
unique idea that can be added to the program, send it our way.
Thank you again for your
continued support. All RSVP’s can be sent to Lclarkarilc@att.net or call the SILC
office at 501-372-0607. Once we receive your RSVP, you will receive
additional information in regards to the program for that day.
We are looking forward to
another successful event with you included!
Unite against Bullying!!
